Vladimir Ashkenazy. 1987<br \/>\n<strong>\u2022<\/strong> Moussorgsky &#8211; Tableaux d\u2019une exposition &#8211; Anatol Ugorksi. 1992<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La huiti\u00e8me sonate pour piano de Prokofiev fut cr\u00e9\u00e9e par Emil Gilels \u00e0 la demande du compositeur en 1944. Le pianiste, tout aur\u00e9ol\u00e9 de gloire suite \u00e0 son premier prix remport\u00e9 au prestigieux premier concours de piano de la reine Elisabeth \u00e0 Bruxelles, \u00e9tait alors quasi-continuellement en tourn\u00e9e dans toute l\u2019Union sovi\u00e9tique pour soutenir les troupes engag\u00e9es sur le front russe contre les Allemands. Cette sonate fait partie des trois \u00absonates de guerre\u00bb de Prokofiev &#8211;<em>6, 7 et !<\/em>-, elle est d\u2019une difficult\u00e9 redoutable et Emil Gilels, apr\u00e8s l\u2019avoir souvent jou\u00e9e en concert, l\u2019enregistra dans un album l\u00e9gendaire en 1974. L\u2019album est accompagn\u00e9 d\u2019extraits des \u00abVisions fugitives\u00bb, courtes pi\u00e8ces pour piano plut\u00f4t intimistes, tr\u00e8s fr\u00e9quemment interpr\u00e9t\u00e9es en r\u00e9citals par Gilels tout au long de sa carri\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Les trois sonates de Scriabine sont des pi\u00e8ces relativement courtes, et l\u2019album de ce jour permet de constater l\u2019\u00e9volution du compositeur, entre la premi\u00e8re, d\u2019inspiration tr\u00e8s romantique, et les deux suivantes, bien plus complexes harmoniquement. Par un curieux signe du destin, Emil Gilels faisait partie du jury qui attribua le premier prix du concours de la Reine Elisabeth \u00e0 Vladimir Ashkenay en 1956. Ce tr\u00e8s grand pianiste n\u2019a peut-\u00eatre pas connu la m\u00eame reconnaissance que son a\u00een\u00e9, malgr\u00e9 une carri\u00e8re discographique abondante, mais il a sans doute \u00e9t\u00e9 desservi par des prises de son \u00e9tonnamment rat\u00e9es &#8211;<em>c\u2019est \u00e0 la fois bouch\u00e9 et m\u00e9tallique, difficile \u00e0 d\u00e9finir\u2026<\/em>&#8211; de la part d\u2019un label r\u00e9put\u00e9 pour ses r\u00e9ussites ! Les sonates de Scriabine, enregistr\u00e9es au d\u00e9but de l\u2019\u00e8re num\u00e9rique, sont un peu meilleures de ce point de vue.
