C&rsquo;est aussi le cas dans cette version de William Steinberg, la seconde enregistr\u00e9e par le chef en 1961, remarquable au demeurant, et b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiant de tr\u00e8s bonnes conditions techniques, comme la majorit\u00e9 de ses enregistrements effectu\u00e9s pour le label Command Classics &#8211;<em>cf. <a href=\"https:\/\/latelierdediablotin.fr\/WordPress3\/playlist-retraite-a-lamericaine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>ici<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0pour en savoir plus<\/em>-. Steinberg avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 enregistr\u00e9 cette symphonie avec succ\u00e8s , avec le m\u00eame orchestre, pour Capitol Records en 1954.<br \/>\nOeuvre totalement ancr\u00e9e dans un post-romantisme tardif, d&rsquo;un acc\u00e8s tr\u00e8s facile gr\u00e2ce notamment \u00e0 son troisi\u00e8me mouvement au caract\u00e8re \u00e9l\u00e9giaque marqu\u00e9, c&rsquo;est la seule symphonie de cette playlist qui b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie d&rsquo;un relatif engouement populaire, et la plus r\u00e9ussie de Rachmaninoff.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u2022 Maximilian Steinberg<\/strong> &#8211; Symphonie n\u00b02 &#8211; OS G\u00f6teborg &#8211; Neeme J\u00e4rvi &#8211; 2001 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>****<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nL&rsquo;enregistrement de cette symphonie est une \u00ab\u00a0premi\u00e8re mondiale\u00a0\u00bb \u00e0 porter au cr\u00e9dit de Neeme j\u00e4rvi, infatigable d\u00e9fricheur de talents dont je vous avais d\u00e9j\u00e0 parl\u00e9 <a href=\"https:\/\/latelierdediablotin.fr\/WordPress3\/playlist-du-grand-nord-1-danemark-et-norvege\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>ici<\/strong><\/span><\/a> \u00e0 l&rsquo;occasion d&rsquo;autres symphonies en marge du \u00ab\u00a0grand catalogue\u00a0\u00bb. Maximilian Steinberg \u00e9tait un \u00e9l\u00e8ve de Rimsky-Korsakov &#8211;<em>dont il devint par ailleurs le gendre<\/em>&#8211; et fut par la suite le professeur, notamment, de Shostakovich. Sa symphonie, compos\u00e9e en 1909, sans \u00eatre g\u00e9niale, loin de l\u00e0, s&rsquo;\u00e9coute n\u00e9anmoins agr\u00e9ablement et s&rsquo;inscrit dans la m\u00eame veine russe que celles de Borodin ou de Glazounov, avec plus de r\u00e9ussite que ce dernier dans ses symphonies \u00e0 mes oreilles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u2022 Igor Stravinsky<\/strong> &#8211; Symphonies d\u2019instruments \u00e0 vent &#8211; Orch. de hambre de Detroit, H. Robert Reynolds 1994 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>**<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nCette oeuvre compos\u00e9e en 1920 est la deuxi\u00e8me des \u00ab\u00a0symphonies\u00a0\u00bb &#8211;<em>qui n\u2019en ont gu\u00e8re que le nom\u2026<\/em>&#8211; du compositeur. C\u2019est vraiment tr\u00e8s vilain \u00e0 mes oreilles et je ne l\u2019avais \u00e9cout\u00e9e qu\u2019une seule fois auparavant le jour de son achat, il a d\u00e9j\u00e0 un peu longtemps &#8211;<em>le disque \u00e9tait en r\u00e9sidence de longue dur\u00e9e dans un bac \u00e0 soldes \u00e0 1\u20ac en Allemagne : on comprend pourquoi !<\/em>-. D\u00e9cid\u00e9ment, mis \u00e0 part ses tout premiers ballets, Stravinsky est un compositeur avec lequel j\u2019ai bien du mal !<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u2022 Dmitri Chostakovich<\/strong> &#8211; Symphonie n\u00b02 \u00ab\u00a0\u00c0 Octobre\u00a0\u00bb &#8211; OS WDR, Rudolf Barshai &#8211; 1995 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>****<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nSymphonie compos\u00e9e en 1927 pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer les dix ans de la r\u00e9volution d\u2019octobre 1917, command\u00e9e par le d\u00e9partement de propagande du gouvernement bolch\u00e9vique, cette courte symphonie d&rsquo;une vingtaine de minutes comporte un seul mouvement et s\u2019ach\u00e8ve par un choeur grandiloquent au texte m\u00e9diocre : \u00ab Nous sommes en marche, nous demandons du travail et du pain \u00bb, dont Chostakovich &#8211;<span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\"><em>Shostakovich en \u00e9criture internationale<\/em><\/span>&#8211; \u00a0\u00e9tait tout sauf enthousiaste &#8211;<em>il le trouvait m\u00eame totalement abominable<\/em>-.
