Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un op\u00e9ra en trois actes compos\u00e9 par <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Krzysztof_Penderecki\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Krzysztof Penderecki<\/strong><\/span><\/a> entre 1968 et 1969, sur un livret en allemand de lui-m\u00eame -sous le titre Die Teufel von Loudun-, et bas\u00e9 sur le roman \u00e9ponyme d&rsquo;Aldous Huxley &#8211;<em>The Devils of Loudun, 1952-<\/em>.<br \/>\nLa version de ce jour, la seule \u00e0 disponible officiellement en disque \u00e0 ma connaissance &#8211;<em>elle existe \u00e9galement en version film\u00e9e<\/em>-, est post\u00e9rieure de quelques semaines \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation mondiale de l&rsquo;oeuvre, \u00e0 Hambourg en juin 1969. Seul le chef, Marek Janowski, n&rsquo;avait pas particip\u00e9 \u00e0 cette cr\u00e9ation. &#8211;<em>Cliquer sur l&rsquo;image pour la voir en plus grand<\/em>-.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/latelierdediablotin.fr\/WordPress3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Loudun_1_082025.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-15398\" src=\"https:\/\/latelierdediablotin.fr\/WordPress3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Loudun_1_082025.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"327\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latelierdediablotin.fr\/WordPress3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Loudun_1_082025.jpg 430w, https:\/\/latelierdediablotin.fr\/WordPress3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Loudun_1_082025-183x300.jpg 183w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>L\u2019\u0153uvre, en trois actes, est fond\u00e9e sur un \u00e9pisode r\u00e9el du XVIIe si\u00e8cle \u00e0 Loudun, assez abondamment document\u00e9, o\u00f9 le pr\u00eatre <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Urbain_Grandier\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Urbain Grandier<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, intellectuel \u00e9loquent et charismatique, s\u00e9ducteur imp\u00e9nitent et volontiers critique du pouvoir royal et de l&rsquo;autorit\u00e9 eccl\u00e9siastique, fut accus\u00e9 de sorcellerie et br\u00fbl\u00e9 vif en 1634 sur ordre du cardinal de Richelieu, qui souhaitait s&#8217;emparer de la ville et achever de faire raser ses fortifications. Ce proc\u00e8s fut largement consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme une machination politique et religieuse.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Acte I<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<strong>\u2022 Introduction &#8211;<\/strong> Dans la ville de Loudun, un climat de tension religieuse et sociale r\u00e8gne. Le pr\u00eatre Urbain Grandier est une figure controvers\u00e9e : intellectuel, brillant orateur, s\u00e9ducteur de femmes, et critique de l\u2019autorit\u00e9 eccl\u00e9siastique, il s&rsquo;attire de nombreux ennemis.<br \/>\n<strong>\u2022 S\u0153ur Jeanne des Anges &#8211;<\/strong> La prieure du couvent des Ursulines, S\u0153ur Jeanne des Anges, est obs\u00e9d\u00e9e par Grandier. Son d\u00e9sir refoul\u00e9 se transforme en haine lorsqu\u2019il rejette son influence. Elle l\u2019accuse d\u2019\u00eatre l\u2019instrument du Diable.<br \/>\n<strong>\u2022 Premiers soup\u00e7ons &#8211;<\/strong> Les rumeurs de possessions d\u00e9moniaques commencent. Des exorcismes sont pratiqu\u00e9s, et les religieuses \u00ab\u00a0poss\u00e9d\u00e9es\u00a0\u00bb accusent Grandier d\u2019avoir invoqu\u00e9 le d\u00e9mon. Les autorit\u00e9s eccl\u00e9siastiques en profitent pour diaboliser Grandier. Les exorcistes conduisent des rituels violents, cens\u00e9s extraire les d\u00e9mons des s\u0153urs.<br \/>\n<strong>\u2022 Le proc\u00e8s &#8211;<\/strong> Grandier est arr\u00eat\u00e9. Le proc\u00e8s est truqu\u00e9, fond\u00e9 sur des \u00ab\u00a0preuves\u00a0\u00bb obtenues par torture ou extorsion. Malgr\u00e9 son \u00e9loquence et sa d\u00e9fense rigoureuse, il est condamn\u00e9 \u00e0 mort.<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Acte III<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<strong>\u2022 Torture et ex\u00e9cution &#8211;<\/strong> Grandier subit la torture. Pendant ce temps, les visions de possession persistent. L\u2019op\u00e9ra culmine avec son ex\u00e9cution : Grandier est br\u00fbl\u00e9 vif sur la place publique, dans une atmosph\u00e8re d\u2019hyst\u00e9rie religieuse m\u00eal\u00e9e de voyeurisme morbide.<br \/>\n<strong>\u2022 \u00c9pilogue &#8211;<\/strong> S\u0153ur Jeanne reste tourment\u00e9e. La possession s&rsquo;est tue, mais le mal subsiste. L\u2019op\u00e9ra se cl\u00f4t dans un climat de trag\u00e9die inexpiable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La musique de Penderecki mobilise de nombreuses techniques de l&rsquo;avant-garde qui avaient cours dans les ann\u00e9es 60 : glissando, clusters &#8211;<em>nuages de notes<\/em>-, vocalises cri\u00e9es ou g\u00e9mies, nombreuses percussions, sons concrets&#8230; Le chant est d\u00e9clamatoire et proche du <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sprechgesang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Sprechgesang<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<br \/>\nL&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9rale est sombre et oppressante, rendant bien compte de la tension psychologique et de la violence physique de l&rsquo;histoire.
