Il en existe des dizaines, dont les deux plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bres demeurent les \u00ab\u00a0Passion selon Saint Matthieu\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0Passion selon Saint Jean\u00a0\u00bb de Johann Sebastian Bach. En Allemagne, de tr\u00e8s nombreux compositeurs de sa g\u00e9n\u00e9ration ou de celle qui la pr\u00e9c\u00e8dent imm\u00e9diatement y sont all\u00e9s de leur mise en musique de l&rsquo;une des quatre \u00e9vangiles pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer les f\u00eates pascales. Mais l&rsquo;Oratorio-Passion de ce jour est plus original : il s&rsquo;agit de la <strong>\u00ab\u00a0Brockes Passion\u00a0\u00bb de Georg Philip Telemann<\/strong> &#8211;<em>cliquer sur l&rsquo;image pour la voir en plus grand<\/em>-.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">La Brockes-Passion (ou Passion selon Brockes) est fond\u00e9e sur un livret en allemand \u00e9crit par le po\u00e8te Barthold Heinrich Brockes &#8211;<em>1680\u20131747<\/em>-, conseiller municipal de Hambourg. Publi\u00e9 en 1712 sous le titre <span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00ab\u00a0Der f\u00fcr die S\u00fcnde der Welt gemarterte und sterbende Jesus\u00a0\u00bb<\/span> &#8211;<span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\"><em>trad : J\u00e9sus, celui qui souffrit et mourut pour les p\u00e9ch\u00e9s du monde<\/em><\/span>-, ce livret est une m\u00e9ditation po\u00e9tique et dramatique sur la Passion du Christ, inspir\u00e9e principalement de l\u2019\u00c9vangile selon saint Matthieu, mais aussi des trois autres \u00c9vangiles. Brockes y ajoute des r\u00e9flexions personnelles et des commentaires lyriques, dans un esprit pi\u00e9tiste. L\u2019\u0153uvre fut cr\u00e9\u00e9e dans la demeure de Brockes \u00e0 Hambourg, devant un public choisi de plus de 500 personnes, parmi lesquelles de nombreux notables et des ministres de la ville. Son but \u00e9tait double : offrir une distraction \u00e9difiante pendant le Car\u00eame et servir \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9dification spirituelle des bourgeois hambourgeois.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le texte de Brockes se distingue par un r\u00e9cit librement inspir\u00e9 des \u00c9vangiles, avec des ajouts de figures all\u00e9goriques &#8211;<em>comme la Fille de Sion ou l\u2019\u00c2me Croyante<\/em>-, qui permettent une expression plus dramatique. La premi\u00e8re mise en musique fut r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par Reinhard Keiser en 1712, compositeur d\u2019op\u00e9ra r\u00e9put\u00e9 \u00e0 Hambourg. Cette premi\u00e8re proposition est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme la plus fid\u00e8le au texte de Brockes, avec une grande richesse rh\u00e9torique et des changements d\u2019affects marquants.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Tr\u00e8s rapidement, plus de treize compositeurs l\u2019ont mise en musique, dont Handel (1716\/1718), Telemann (1716), Mattheson (1718), Fasch (1723) et St\u00f6lzel (1725)&#8230; Les versions de Keiser -pour son expressivit\u00e9 dramatique-, Handel -pour sa th\u00e9\u00e2tralit\u00e9- et Telemann -pour sa diversit\u00e9 instrumentale- sont particuli\u00e8rement remarquables. D&rsquo;une grande richesse instrumentale, elle alterne r\u00e9cits, arias, chorals et ch\u0153urs, privil\u00e9giant l\u2019expression des affects et une dramaturgie proche de l\u2019op\u00e9ra. Telemann exploite la richesse rh\u00e9torique et \u00e9motionnelle du texte de Brockes, avec des airs virtuoses et des ch\u0153urs expressifs, s\u2019\u00e9loignant parfois du r\u00e9cit \u00e9vang\u00e9lique strict pour privil\u00e9gier une narration plus libre et po\u00e9tique. Le courant pi\u00e9tiste, qui pr\u00f4ne une d\u00e9votion personnelle et \u00e9motionnelle, impr\u00e8gne l\u2019\u0153uvre, notamment dans les arias et les chorals qui invitent \u00e0 la m\u00e9ditation et \u00e0 l\u2019introspection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La Brockes-Passion marque le d\u00e9but de la production de Telemann dans le genre de l\u2019Oratorio-Passion. Elle pr\u00e9c\u00e8de ses <strong>46 passions-oratorios \u00ab\u00a0\u00e9vang\u00e9liques\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> &#8211;<em><strong>!!!<\/strong><\/em>&#8211; destin\u00e9es \u00e0 la liturgie &#8211;<em>dont une vingtaine sont encore disponibles de nos jours<\/em>-, qui suivent une structure plus traditionnelle.
